Ploey is a young and cheerful little bird that likes to play with his best friend Ploveria. They laugh a lot together and are secretly in love.
Everything changes when Shadow, the falcon, attacks Ploey during his first flying lesson. He is saved, but his father does not survive the battle.
Ploey no longer dares to fly. Ploveria still urges him to fly because they have to go south when winter comes. Ploey goes back to practice, but then he is caught by the cat from the village. Everyone thinks Ploey is dead, except Ploveria.
Ploey must survive the winter alone, while his family moves south. Non-migratory birds and misfits spend the winter in Paradise Valley, a hidden place. But the journey to Paradise Valley is long and dangerous. Fortunately, the brave little bird makes new friends to help him in his journey.
